Betac 20mg Tablet belongs to the cardioselective beta-blocker class of medications and contains betaxolol hydrochloride as its active ingredient. It is usually taken once daily, with or without food, and your doctor will often begin treatment with a lower dose before increasing it if needed. The usual adult dose is 20mg once daily, although treatment is often started at 10mg (half a tablet) once daily and increased after 7-14 days if required. In patients with severe kidney impairment or those receiving dialysis, treatment generally starts at 5mg once daily, with gradual dose increases if necessary. Elderly patients are also commonly started on 5mg daily.
